I am on the last chapter of Water for Elephants, and I think that the book was absolutely fantastic! I wanted to know what other people thought of enjoyed about the book.
NY Times states, "For better and for worse, Gruen has fallen under the spell. With a showman's expert timing, she saves a terrific revelation for the final pages, transforming a glimpse of Americana into an enchanting escapist fairy tale."
About Bestsellers said, "The pages of Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen burst with rich descriptions and action."
Amazon reviews included, "Water for Elephants has been lauded as a "great pick for summer", but this book is so much more. It has a depth and a substance to it that you don't usually find in your typical 'beach summer read'."
According to Good Reads there are 37% (185078 people) that rate it a 5 star book.
Persephone Magazine stated, "I was captivated by Jacob’s self-narrated memoir, but I have this unmasked fear of finishing books I enjoy. It’s like I’ve entered this world with great characters but once their stories are finished I must leave. I didn’t want to leave the pages that exposed the truth of Jacob and Marlena’s affection or the cruelties of Uncle Al and August. But the book locked me in and all I could do was turn the pages until I reached page 331 and the story was complete."
I was not the only one that agreed that the book was absolutely great and an amazing book!
I have watched this movie and really liked it. Do you reccomed reading t his book?
