Book Recommendation!

Need a book? Maybe this one is the perfect book for you!

My favorite book of all times is, A Child Called 'It'.

I have read A Child Called It, more than about 3 times. I love the engagement where the author drawls us in.  I could never suspect what the author or mom was going to do or say next, I was always left on the edge of my chair!

A Child Called "It" is a real life story about a boy who was brutally beaten and starved by his disturbed and alcoholic mother. At first, David Pelzer lived a healthy and normal life with his parents and brothers. His mother, unexpectedly transformed into a monster, venting her anger on the helpless child with emotions of rage. David was submerged in freezing cold water, forced to eat his own vomit, slept in the basement under the stairs, stabbed, and forced to sit on a burning stove. These are just a few of the horrible things that his mother made him do. She treated him not like her son, but like an "it". David suffered both mental and physical abuse. In order to survive from his mother's sick games, David used willpower. Through all of her torturous games, David's inner strength began to emerge.  Once teachers at school start to notice the bruises and all the terrible things and distractions he has, they question him.

Will David tell them all about his Mother?  Or will he lie and protect her?  How will Jacob explain all the bruises and burns? Read A Child Called It today and figure out if David will ever be taken out of the house of horrors that he, himself, used to call home.

  1. This book seems like a book you could never put down! It's defaintly on my books to read! Does the mom just beat David or does she beat his brothers too?

  2. I think David should tell them about his mother because it would be the best for both of them.
